Gurtopolis II
For the past few days I’ve ridden to Toowong a few times on my lunch break. I said yesterday I was going to push myself more. And so I did.

Today I jogged to Toowong. And back!

Maybe this sounds like a minor achievement to you but let me disclose something. I have bad lungs. I have never smoked, I was born with them. Long story that nobody wants to hear cut short, I have a restricted lung capacity. I can hold my breath for maybe 17 seconds? When that used to be like, 42 seconds. So my upper body is a massive bottleneck - even though my legs and endurance capability are actually very, very hardy.

So I ran out of puff after the first kilometre, but I kept going. I kept jogging all the way to the Regatta Ferry Terminal, a bit beyond. Took this crap photo which has partial foot in it. Then I turned back and the wind was against me!

I ran as hard as I could but the wind broke me. I ran out of stamina outside Drift. I could only run in bursts after that. But I made it back - total time 45 mins, distance about 6km. (I GPS recorded so I can confirm later.)

Considering my abilities, I’m happy. Considering I’ve pushed myself to be a better person once again and definitely succeeded, in happier still! And I feel confident in myself! Sort of! (Would anyone like to go on a date? Haha, don’t answer that. “No” would hurt!)

And on top of this, I’m going home early :D all-in-all, life at the moment is pretty darn good. Not perfect, not warm and fuzzy, but very, very positive. Bliss!
